Chris Preist is a remarkable man – a polymath really. His main focus is sustainability, especially in the business world. He is also an economist. I think it should be a very stimulating evening in which we might be able to build on TK work by seeing how we can put some Satish Kumar’s mission into practice locally.
You can hear Chris speak on Tuesday the 17th Sept at 7.30pm at St Dunstan’s Hall.
As part of the heritage open days weekend the recycling depot in Keynsham will be running tours , you just need to book a place. It will be a bit like going through the round window if your old enough or young enough to remember play school!
We’re really looking forward to watching this film with a glass of Fairtrade wine in our hands!
See you on Tuesday, 7pm the Fear Hall, Keynsham
‘Playing for Change’ is a music project, created by the American producer and sound engineer Mark Johnson, which seeks to bring together musicians from around the world to promote harmony and change for the better.
This amazing film synchronises leading world musicians playing a selection of songs simultaneously all over the planet. If you haven’t seen it you probably need to. If you have, here’s a chance to see it BIG with great sound.
‘Playing For Change’ also created a separate non-profit organization called the Playing For Change Foundation which builds music schools for children around the world.
Doors open at 7pm and until 7.30pm Transition Keynsham will be serving refreshments for you to enjoy whilst watching the film.
The screening is free but a suggested donation of £3 would be wonderful to help cover the hall costs. Any profits will be donated to the playing for change foundation.
You can watch a trailer here and find out more about the foundation here
