Wellsway winner of Eco-Bag competition

The competition for the best design to go on a cotton Eco Bag for Keynsham was won by thirteen year-old Beth of Wellsway School, seen here collecting her prize from Tim Rawlings, Waste Awareness Officer of B&NES, accompanied by Robin Harvey of the Keynsham R3 Group (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle).  The competition attracted 39 entries from Wellsway and Broadlands schools and the ten short-listed designs went on display at Keynsham Music Festival.  Over 200 votes were cast and Beth emerged as the winner by a large majority.  the R3 Group, supported by B&NES Council, Transition Keynsham and Churches Together, plans to launch the Eco Bag at the Keynsham Victorian Evening in November.
