A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped; from the people who posted out leaflets, to our sponsors, Your Power, Thru The Blu Design Solutions and Converging World. As well as enjoying the talks, information stands and free tea & cake, many people gave us feedback on aspects of energy saving and renewable energy production.
Energy Saving and Monitoring
One thing people were keen to know more about was not only saving energy but monitoring their usage. Electricity monitors are available to borrow from the library free of charge. However, some people are concerned they will have difficulty fitting and using these monitors. If you would like help with either fitting or using an energy monitor, please get in touch with us, (contact at the bottom of this article) and we will do our best to help.
Domestic Renewable Technology
Another item high on the feedback sheets was solar electricity PV (photovoltaic). Many people wanted to know more about fitting PV panels to their homes, not only singly, but the possibility of a bulk buying project to bring down the price of the panels. We hope to look into this further, if you would be interested in such a scheme, please get in touch.
Community Renewable Technology
Interest on the feedback sheets was highest for a hydro scheme. The Keynsham Sustainable Energy Plan identified two possible sites for hydro generation in the Keynsham area. This would be a long term project and we hope Bath Community Energy would, help us to look into it more thoroughly.
If you didn’t get a chance to come to the Energy Day and would still like to comment, we have set up a Survey Monkey to gather more feedback, and for residents to register their interest in potential projects.
