Guerrilla Gardening

Saturday morning  3rd April 2010

****Success!**** We  transformed a bare patch of unused grass into a community herb + strawberry patch!

We had carefully chosen a site close to people living in flats that may not have access to their own garden and next to a busy path so that the patch would hopefully get used and picked often. The herbs/plants that we included were strawberries, broad beans, lemon balm, sage, fennel, flowers and chives. It only took us an hour and a half and it looks smashing. The passing locals were very positive, although worried that it may be vandalised. If it does then we shall return and keep returning!

Found a suitable patch that you would like turned into a community green-space? Email: for details of how to get involved and organise the next one.
