Whatever you have to offer us we will gladly take it; whether that is time, energy, enthusiasm, encouragement, getting the word out, flyer delivery, performing, attending our events, making tea, organising etc! Below is not an exclusive list, if you have any ideas for other Transition projects you would like to get off the ground then please email/call us and we will get the word out try and support you. We will inform you a.s.a.p. about details of events that are yet to be confirmed.

SUGGESTED BOOK LIST FOR KEYNSHAM LIBRARY

We are collating a list of books/dvds on sustainability to be suggested to Keynsham Library for them to get in stock for lending. We would really appreciate your input and suggestions of great books/dvds to be included.

Examples of books we’ve thought of so far: “The Transiton Handbook” – Rob Hopkins, “The Earth Care Manual” – Patrick Whitefield, “Plants for a future” – Ken Fern, ”The whole house book” – Harris + Borer, “The woodland way” – Ben Law, “Liquid Gold” – Carol Steinfeld.

Suggestion of topics: Permaculture, Transition, climate change, peak oil, herbal medicine, organic gardening, chicken keeping, bee keeping, green building, woodland management, agroforestry, keeping an allotment, food foraging, mend and make do etc, etc.

FOOD GROUP

The Food Group are holding their first meeting on 5th January at 7.30pm.  If you are interested in anything to do with food – growing, production, distribution, cooking and of course eating, please do join us. Call or email Mary on 0117 986 2257 or mandd@gentlyblown.co.uk for the venue address.

DROP-IN SESSIONS

We have arranged with the Oxfam shop in Keynsham High St to have a Transition Keynsham drop-in session on the first Friday of the month 10am-12pm. This is for anyone wanting to talk to someone from TK on a face-to-face level about what TK is and how to get involved etc. At the moment we are a small group so it would be great to share this out amongst other members.

Anyone who wants to join me (Laura) on the 8th Jan (confusingly not the first Friday due to bank holiday!) I would really appreciate the company!

Hope you are all well and enjoying the run up to a Merry Christmas!
